I don't believe that the Hippocratic Oath said anything like "never admit mistakes" and "always blame the patient." Our medical providers are supposed to listen to us, and to care for us, and this is unfortunately not the type of service that I received at Family Care. Thus, we have now made the right decision and gone elsewhere for our medical care.
Obviously, I should have gone looking elsewhere at this point. But I decided that perhaps the trained medical staff would be better, once we got past the receptionists. Unfortunately, I was wrong. They charged us for something that we did not schedule, screwed us with insurance, and then acted like we were in the wrong.
KJC,
Based on your two posts KJC, it seems trouble follows you, and rudeness. It's hard sometimes to take a close look at oneself and admit we could also be part of the problem. I don't discount your experience, but based on your two available reviews, claims of rude interaction do seem to be a trend for you. I would remind you that, in each case, you were half of those interactions. Just a thought.
I would not recommend Family Care. Of all of the surly receptionists that I have encountered in doctors' offices in Easton, Family Care is home to, by far, the worst. After handing in paperwork to register my wife as a patient, I called to make an appointment only to be berated for five minutes that they don't accept my insurance and that we "had already gone over this before!" The rudeness of the receptionist's tone was quite shocking, especially considering that we had not "gone over this before." She finally realized that she was confusing me with someone else, as I had been stating for the past five minutes between her rude outbursts. Then, as if nothing at all had happened, she just switched tones and scheduled the appointment. If I had been berating someone mistakenly for no reason at all, I would apologize... but perhaps that's just me.
I have done a student clinical experience here at Family Care of Easton and I found the exact opposite. They are very caring and helpful, and I've seen and heard what happens behind the scenes. The desire truly is to provide excellent care.
What I find interesting about the writer of this critique is that he/she seems to find rudeness wherever they go. Read his/her review on Sunoco. I would suggest that maybe you also consider your demeanor each interaction prior to making such inflammatory remarks about others and their places of business. Perhaps you felt the service could have been better, fair enough. What did you do to try to improve it for others? Or to find mediation for the problem.
