I received a referral for him through my community Facebook page; but with that kind of service, Dr. Del Toro will not see me again nor would I refer anyone to him.
I had an appointment with him on Wednesday October 25, 2017. I called the day before to confirm what procedures I was receiving during my visit and the staff member kept me on hold (confirming, researching what procedures I was getting the next day) for at least 15 minutes before I hung up because I was at work(she didn't call me back). I arrived for my appointment 45mins. early as stated by the Dr. Del Torto on my previous visit to get topical anesthesia. I wasn't seen by a staff person until 15 minutes before my actual appointment time, which was 12pm. She asked me what procedures was I getting that day because it wasn't clear in my fiIe(unheard of). I couldn't believe it. I mentioned to her how unhappy was with both the service the day before and what was happening at that time. She shared my concerns with the Dr. Del Torto, prior to him coming into the room. Dr. Del Toro (came into the room at 12:15) and said " I am sorry for being late but this is a special situation, I am doing this for you during my lunch hour". I told him that I didn't ask for this appointment time, the desk attendant gave this appointment to me( It was not my fault that the attendant scheduled me during his lunch hour, he should have taken that up with her). He said, "I understand but you would not have gotten an appointment for this type of procedure for about 6 months out. I couldn't believe it. I would have thought, he would have said something like, sorry for the situation the day before(do to shortage of staff) and for the miscommunication in reference to what service that he was suppose to perform that day(This is his practice). Instead he was basically saying don't bother complaining because I am performing this service at this time as a courtesy to you. I didn't leave because I needed to just get this procedure done and over with, considering I took off for it.
Not happy with office policy on insurance. They should get there money from the insurance company but they don't they get it from you. They should except what is reasonable and customary from the insurance. My insurance said they should have taken a ten dollar copay. Instead they charge me what they should have gotten from ins. Will not go back.
